Vacation Injuries in Parkland: Who Is Responsible?

If you’re on vacation in the Parkland area, you may be looking forward to airboat rides, trips to the everglades, a trip to one of the nearby theme parks, delicious dinners, and everything else that makes a trip a memorable one. No one on vacation plans to get injured, but unfortunately injuries do happen and when they happen far from home, they can be especially intimidating and frightening.

Common Injuries on Parkland Vacations

As a tourist, there are many ways that injuries can happen:

  • Boating injuries: Taking a boat tour is a popular way to see Florida from a new perspective, but injuries can and do happen when boat collisions happen or when individuals slip and fall during the tour.
  • Tour injuries: If you take a walking tour, shuttle tour bus, or any tour to see the area and to learn more about the history, you could be injured by a fall or traffic collision.
  • Theme park injuries: While rare, injuries involving theme park rides, assaults, trip and fall injuries, and other incidents do happen.
  • Car accidents: If you decide to rent a car to get around South Florida more easily, mechanical failure or another cause can potentially cause a crash. Being in a car accident far from home can be especially intimidating. You might not know what injuries you’re covered for and may be far from your usual healthcare providers.
  • Accommodation injuries: Whether you are staying at a hotel, motel, bed and breakfast, or any accommodation, poor maintenance of the property can lead to falls, head injuries, fractures, and even assault.

Preventing Parkland Tourism Injuries

If you are traveling anywhere, you will want to use common sense to prevent injury:

  • Use caution when in unfamiliar areas: Stay alert and avoid carrying anything which could attract thieves.
  • Stay in reputable accommodations: Look for hotels or official accommodations with good safety records and ask about their safety policies. If there is a concierge, this can be a useful resource to help you understand whether there are any areas nearby you might want to avoid.
  • Secure your door: Purchase a small door wedge or additional portable door lock for your hotel room for added safety. Secure any sliding doors to the outside as well.
  • Wear the right clothing: Choose practical shoes with good treads that offer good balance and reduce your risk of falls. Wear clothing that is comfortable and easy to move in so your mobility isn’t hampered.
  • Research tour operators: If you want to go on a boat tour or any tour, check tour operators to ensure they are insured and have good safety ratings.

Charlie is a very skilled attorney that advocates hard for his clients. But the best part is he is an all around great guy. He cares about helping and doing what is right for people and his community. And he is not afraid to fight against those who do wrong or against threats to our world. He is fluent in Spanish as well. Do yourself a favor and call him. Andy

I had a lawyer on another case and I never spoke to the lawyer and I hated that I never knew what was going on in my case. Mr. Flaxman was in constant communication with me, explained everything to me, and his staff was really great too. My phone calls were always returned immediately. It was refreshing to be able to speak to my attorney personally. I would HIGHLY recommend Mr. Flaxman as an attorney to anyone who has been in an accident. Gloria
