How Teens Can Avoid Truck Collisions in Hollywood and Florida

If you’re a young driver, you probably take your driving skills and freedoms very seriously. That’s great news. Here’s the problem: not everyone on the roads is as careful as you. If you’re a new driver and still working on your skills, one thing you may be a little nervous about sharing the road with big rigs, 18 wheelers, and other large trucks.

If you want to avoid car and truck accidents in Homestead or your city, we have some tips to help you avoid traffic collisions in Hollywood or your Florida city:

1) Get driver training – and then more training.

Go to driver’s education courses and get additional defensive driving classes and car control classes to learn how to handle your car in emergencies. Take a class on a closed track. Get one-on-one training with a professional driving instructor. The more classes you take, the more likely you are to hone your driving skills and to get really good at avoiding accidents.

Your parents may be able to help you pay for some of these classes. Even if you have to pay for them yourself, taking extra classes can help you save on insurance. Since you probably have very high insurance rates as a new driver, every little bit of savings can help.

2) Practice frequently.

If you love driving and like to take the car out often, that’s good news. Practicing often in different conditions and on different types of roads can help you become a better driver.

3) Get rid of distractions.

You’ve probably heard it before, but all drivers need to worry about distractions. We don’t just mean your cell phone or mobile device, either. Distractions can mean anything that keeps you from focusing entirely on driving. Switching your music, talking to friends in the car, watching the scenery rather than the road, or even daydreaming are all distractions and all can lead to an accident. Distractions can be especially deadly on highways, where you’re surrounded by much larger vehicles that can essentially crush your smaller car in a collision.

4) Use driver privilege to keep friends quiet – or get new friends.

When you’re behind the wheel of your car, you get to decide the rules. If you give your friends drives to work or school, you have the absolute right to pick the music and ask your friends to be quiet. If your friend are distracting you, leaning out of the car, or otherwise acting up, they’re putting all of you in danger. Even if you are an excellent driver, any sort of distraction like this can lead to an accident.

If you’re a teen driver and have been injured in a car accident, you may be able to get compensation so you can pay for your medical bills, car repairs, and everything else. I had a lawyer on another case and I never spoke to the lawyer and I hated that I never knew what was going on in my case. Mr. Flaxman was in constant communication with me, explained everything to me, and his staff was really great too. My phone calls were always returned immediately. It was refreshing to be able to speak to my attorney personally. I would HIGHLY recommend Mr. Flaxman as an attorney to anyone who has been in an accident. Gloria
